Meet the team

Sarah Mousley and Sophie Jopling

Writers & Designers of Let’s Chat

Hello! We are Sophie and Sarah and we are Occupational Therapists. We take a “whole-person approach” to both mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Having worked in the NHS for a number of years, we began our company, Kent Occupational Therapy in 2011. We wanted to be able to deliver Occupational Therapy in a more creative and flexible way and had seen a need in care homes. We designed a weekly group to encourage cognitive stimulation using multisensory activities which quickly became an established and valued part of residents’ life in the homes. Our familiar themes encouraged engagement in the groups and helped residents to live well. In 2017 we published
The Multi-Sensory Reminiscence Activity Book which is based on this group work.
Running our own company, Kent Occupational Therapy, has given us the opportunity to deliver Occupational Therapy in an area which we love and the flexibility to bring up our families. We have met some amazing people along the way in our groups and we continue to learn from and feel privileged to work with them.

Dan Baber

Video Editor & Main Narrator

Dan started out as a tea-boy and general dogsbody in a recording studio in the mid 1990’s and from there he developed many of the skills that he brings to Let’s Chat videos.
He trained as a video editor and photographer whilst working as a local radio presenter (quite a few years ago now!) and has spent much of the intervening years working on a range of television programmes, radio shows, internet productions and in music and theatre.
Always tinkering with computers, musical instruments, and cameras, Dan provides the editing skills and main voiceover narration for Let’s Chat. He also designed and produced this website which is testament to his varied skills.

Tony Rana

Executive Producer

Tony is the main business brain behind Let’s Chat. His extensive experience working for both charities and large corporates in sales, customer services and management roles makes him the ideal person to bring our skill set together and help guide the business launch.
Tony is also the Director of Sambhana Care in Kent, providing care and assistance to older people and adults with learning disabilities. It is this unique mix of talents that he brings to Let’s Chat and it is in this capacity that he was originally introduced to Sarah and Sophie.

The Let’s Chat story

The idea for Let’s Chat began in early 2020 when Sarah and Sophie, as experienced Occupational Therapists, were no longer able to go into Care Homes to deliver their multisensory reminiscence groups. We wanted to be able to continue to provide cognitively stimulating activities and to support engagement and connection during the pandemic which has been so isolating in so many ways.

We teamed up with Tony after we had had some discussions about bringing Occupational Therapy into his home care business, Sambhana Care. His philosophy, of a holistic style of care totally resonated with our way of working. He was excited about the potential of Let’s Chat and wanted to get involved. Dan, who was already working alongside Tony completed our team with his technical expertise!

Let’s Chat Testimonials

Let’s Chat is a lovely idea, simple and slow in delivery, reaching those in need of stimulation as well as those on the dementia scale.

Val Jones

Occupational Therapist

I highly recommend Let’s Chat as a resource for anyone living with memory problems or dementia. It’s an enjoyable activity, designed to be shared with a companion, to support conversation. It uses elements of reminiscence and cognitive stimulation which are known to support function and wellbeing in people living with memory difficulties. Whilst it is a well-structured activity, it can be used flexibly with opportunities to chat more around different themes and topics as they may emerge.
I would recommend Let’s Chat as an entertaining and enjoyable way to help support cognitive function.

Dr. Katherine Scott

Memory Service Consultant

Really lovely – congratulations on a great resource!

Hilary Woodhead

Executive Director of National Activity Providers Association (NAPA)
